Do Work…

Last week I read parts of Andy Stanley's new book, The Principle of the Path, and was thinking about the difference between desire and destination.

Desire sounds like:
"I wish this would happen..."
"Wouldn't it be wonderful if..."
"Only if that was the case..."

Destination, however, sounds more like:

"So what do I need to do in order to get this to happen?"
"This is wonderful, how do we make it work?"
"Let's make it the case."

Destination, in other words, involves the imperative (as Rob&Big would say):  DO WORK, SON!

I don't have MTV anymore, and I never got to watch this episode of Fantasy Factory, but if you can dream it, why not make it happen?

Update:  Picked up Andy Stanley's book, Visioneering, and found this quote.

"Dreamers dream about things being different.  Visionaries envision themselves making a difference.  Dreamers think about how nice it would be for something to be done.  Visionaries look for an opportunity to do something." (p. 32)
