Getting a Check-Up
I've had this nagging discomfort in my ear and I have a feeling it's an ear infection. According to my mother, I used to get them all the time. I'm usually very sensitive to changes in my body, especially when I'm about to get sick, but the last time I went into the doctor's office they asked me if I had noticed pain in my ears to which I replied I had not. Surprised, my doctor told me that I had quite the ear infection.

There's a lot of things that fly under the radar when it comes to noticing things about my body. The other day someone pointed out that I hade moles on my left ear. I told them that I already knew there was one, but they pointed out that there were actually three. News to me.
Here are a few interesting things about our bodies that you probably didn't know about:
1. Just like everyone has a unique fingerprint, we also have unique tongue prints.
2. Blonds have more hair.
3. The surface area of a human lung is equal to a tennis court.
4. The average person expels flatulence 14 times each day. What's flatulence? FARTS!
5. If saliva cannot dissolve something, you cannot taste it.
6. Human lips have a reddish color because of the great concentration of tiny capillaries just below the skin.
7. Your body gives off enough heat in 30 minutes to bring half a gallon of water to a boil.
8. The nail on your middle finger grows the fastest.
9. Your left lung is smaller than your right lung to make room for your heart.
Lastly...
10. Right-handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left-handed people do.
