Mid-Life
My dad turns 58 this year. I'm turning 29.
I realized that this morning as my dad and I walked by each other earlier today. I've seen pictures of my dad just before getting married--back in the 70's he had long permed hair and large glasses with now in-fashion jeans. Every picture I've seen of my dad he's around people with a big smile on his face.
Remnants of that boyish grin are evident when he's talking with clients or random people he'll meet at restaurants (strange how there are always people who will recognize my dad).
Stranger still to think that 29 years ago my parents emigrated to the States with no more than $100 in their pocket, a mattress (which is still around!), and an old green VW bug.
Reminded again, just as God's Word says, that our life is like a vapor.
