Live Love Loud
Love this pic, especially E.'s face on the right. B. Ko needs to be reported. Photo props to A. Jang! =)
For the first time in a long while, I got to attend a retreat and not lead it. It was, in one word, GLORIOUS. Good job youth group staff!
I also got to to spend a little more time with a small group of 11th Grade guys (props to my group: S. Youn, SW, S. Lee, Y.S., Peanut!) which was awesome. I couldn't have asked for a better group.
But, for those who didn't take notes, here's my short summary of each session:
Session #1 - God is EVERYTHING
Many times we turn to God because we need him and only when we have needs to be met. He's not a plumber or a means to an end. If there's one thing we need, it's Him--everything else is just a bonus. That's why heaven is our prize--not because we get to go there, but because He's there.
Session #2 - God is LIFE
We were meant to live in relationship with God. Sin separates us from that relationship, but Jesus died on the cross so that relationship could be restored. But a relationship only happens when it becomes personal, is encountered daily, and when we ourselves choose to take up our cross--dieing to our life so we could live the way God set forth.
Session #3 - God is LOVE
How many times can you say agape in a sentence? The perfect kind of love only comes from God because God is agape love. Every other kind of love is imperfect or insufficient. We have to lean upon agape love.
Session #4 - Be LOUD about God
If you trust in God, He's in you. Being loud doesn't mean being noisy, it means having a quiet confidence that speaks volumes about your character and the God that lives in you. Live with that confidence, love with an enduring passion, let others know about Him as well.
