One Step at a Time

I read this article the other day on How to Train Your Brain to be in the Mood You Want.  Using the acronym "ACT FAST" the writers outline these seven steps towards improving your mood:

A: AGREE With Yourself That You Don’t Want To Be In This Mood Right Now.

C: CLARIFY The Mood or Emotion You Want To Move Towards

T: TAKE Responsibility For Taking Immediate Action.

F: “What Would I Need To FOCUS On To Feel this Way?”

A: “What Would I Need To ACT On To Feel The Way I Want To?”

S: “What Would I Need To SURROUND Myself With To Feel The Way I Want To?”

T: “What Would I Need To TELL Myself To Feel The Way I Want To?”

Just reminded me that moods are temporary and you can control them.  It's like the difference between a thermometer and a thermostat.  The measure of your mood can be determined by your circumstances or you can mold your mood to influence your environment.
