Weddings & Funerals
If I had to go to a wedding or a funeral on the same day, hands down I would go to the funeral.
Why?
Though weddings are great, celebrating the sacred union of two individuals, a funeral is an occasion when we can celebrate a life--hopefully a life well lived.
I've been to my fair share of weddings and funerals, and though the mood at funerals is generally somber because a loved one has died, when a life impacts another life there's something special about that. Weddings... well, it's just the start of something special--nothing to celebrate yet. You may differ, but I have yet to come away from a funeral not only reminded of my own humanity, but inspired to love others in the short time that I still have left--not for my own gain, but because of the love of God and for the love of others!
